Got stopped today in Hayes valley by a lady with a crazed look in her eye. Had she misaken me for someone else? Had I offended her progressive Sab Fran values?

No! I was just wearing a tshirt that represented all that is good in the world. Lox, white fish salad and killer bagels on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

Yesterday, Kristian (another NYC transplant) and I struck out this morning (more like noon) for a whirlwind tour of berkley bike shops and a concert in Oakland.

Didn't find any bikes I liked, but we did find a funky Brazilian food stand in the parking lot of a bike shop, which is pretty much as cool as buying a bike.

Next we were off to The Compound to see a friend's band play. Little did I know it was a gallery opening, so I ended up with some new art ,some new friends, and a solid appreciataion for AntEater Eat Ants rock ability.

I'm feeng a bit of an "I miss NYC" type of thing these days, so the art felt right.

Still gotta keep an open mind about SF though, cause its not fair to always compare it to the city. Its apples and oranges... :-)

Just had a cop car pull up behind me with his lights on for a block or two before I pulled over thinking it was me he was after. Only then did I realize there was a cyclist off to my right.

The cop car peeled out, flew around me to cut off the biker, and the biker hit the side of the car. Seems a bit excessive to me.

The officer hopped out and started screaming at the kid for running through stop signs, which was weird because the biker was essentially tailing me and I was stopping, so its not like he was bombing down the street out of control.

Anyway, after parking my car 10 min I had to walk down the same street and I snapped this pic.
